The St Lucius’ Church Eco Group uncovered the grave of the Reverend Cutfield Wardroper in the churchyard.

Wardroper lived from 1815 to 1906 and served as vicar at St Lucius’ from 1848 until 1899. He was remembered for riding around the parish on a white horse and for commissioning a wicker coffin long before his death. Members of the church and Eco Group hope the grave can be restored so its inscriptions are legible again.
